In an on-going saga to both promote and embarrass Ari Kelman for his fantastic book, A Misplaced Massacre: Struggling Over the Memory of Sand Creek, I present for your consideration a talk that Ari gave at Gettysburg College recently. CSPAN was kind enough to record and post it. I have done some work on Sand Creek and the messy politics of writing about it (see my MA Thesis, a 2009 journal article on Sand creek, and a 2011 anthology chapter on genocide). I have enjoyed Ari's book as a very satisfying answer to many of the questions and ideas that fell outside the scope of my own work.
